Piano Lessons

How much do Piano Lessons Cost?
Piano Lessons are $33 per 30 minute lesson and lessons are paid on a monthly basis.
Where are the Piano Lessons Held?
Piano Lessons usually occur at the Jen Miller Piano Lessons Studio in the suburb of Lindisfarne, Tasmania, but they can also be run online via Zoom, so you can have lessons from your own home!
Can I Trail Lessons?
If you are not sure if you are ready to commit to lessons, I am happy to have an informal free first lesson.
What do you teach in your lessons?
My lessons focus on piano technique, theory, and sight reading ability. I also cover improvisation, aural skills, chord chart reading, and other key musical elements. As I teach my students individually, I am able to ensure that the focus of the lesson is on the area that a student most needs improvement. To keep track of a student's progress, I use an exercise book to keep note of what the student is working on and where their focus needs to be.
What age do you teach?
I am willing to teach people of any age. I have had experience teaching students aged between 5 years and 70 years. Determination is the key, not age.
What ability level do you teach?
I can teach beginners right through to college level. If the student is beyond my capability to teach and needs a more experienced teacher, I will let you know so that you can find a more suitable teacher. I am a qualified teacher and have completed my Bachelor of Musical Arts at UTAS (2015) as well as a Graduate Diploma in Education at University of Queensland (2016). I am also a registered teacher in Tasmania and hold a current Tasmanian working with vulnerable people card.
Can I have online lessons?
Piano lessons can be run online via Zoom so I can teach you no matter where you live in Australia. For online lessons you will need a piano or keyboard, a good internet connection, a printer (or have a way to print), and a device that can run Zoom. If you would like to trial a free first video lesson, send me a message or give me a call.
