Alfred's Music for Little Mozarts

The Music for Little Mozarts Piano Course was written by Christine H. Barden, Gayle Kowalchyk and E. L. Lancaster specifically for the preschool age group (four-, five- and six-year-olds). This curriculum provides a balance between the discipline necessary for playing the piano and the enjoyment one receives from the process of music making. The course centers on the adventures of Beethoven Bear and Mozart Mouse™ as they learn about music. Three correlating books (Music Lesson Book, Music Workbook and Music Discovery Book) at each of four levels guide the children through a comprehensive approach to musical learning, using the piano over approximately a two-year period.

Alfred's Basic Piano Library
- Prep Course -

Alfred's Basic Prep Course, Lesson Book A is specifically designed for beginners who are five years old and up. Through the use of appealing music and attractive illustrations, it is no wonder that Lesson Book A is the most widely used young beginner's piano book now available. This course takes into consideration the normal attention span, as well as the small-sized hands of the young beginner. Shortly after beginning, the young student will be able to play "Merrily We Roll Along." The complete Prep Course consists of six books (Levels A through F).

Alfred's Basic Piano Library
- Value Pack -

This Value Pack contains Alfred's Basic Piano Library:
 - Lesson Book, Theory Book and Recital Book
Lesson Book Level 1A begins by teaching basic keyboard topography and fluent recognition of white key names in relation to black keys. It focuses on simple rhythms and prepares students for intervallic reading with entertaining songs that focus on "same," "stepping up" and "stepping down." It then introduces lines and space notes in treble and bass clefs, melodic and harmonic intervals of 2nds, 3rds, 4ths and 5ths, and graduates to reading on the grand staff. It also introduces the flat and sharp signs.

Teacher's Note:
These books can be bought individually, but I strongly recommend buying the pack of three as they are good value for money and students will benefit from using all three books.

Alfred's Adult All-in-One Course

For the first time, an adult course has combined Lesson, Theory and Technic sections within one book. This combined approach offers beginners a unified course of instruction. This course is for adults who prefer a chord approach. It teaches chords for both hands so that the student can play more than single note melodies. At the completion of this course, the student will have learned to play some of the most popular music ever written and will have gained a thorough understanding of the basic concepts of music. This book includes a CD that has accompaniments and rhythms for songs in the book.
